We are a group of women fascinated with the beauty of our environment. We have way too much fun (thus, the name) and for many of us, we fly fish not because we want to, but because we have to. Once bitten by the bug - you do not recover.
Our goal is to create a community of mothers, daughters (and families), grandmothers and great grandmothers who pursue the art and tradition of fly fishing while developing relationships on many levels with those we meet. Those connections are stimulated by the wildlife, forest, and water encountered. For all of us, the river that runs through our lives is shared. The wonderful thing is that it flows down into our families and friends.
Montana Missouri River House Fly Fishing Trip 2007
We started by a providential accident. A "Group of Seven" women unknown to each other on a trip from Calgary to Montana. The rest is history......
Our mission is to get you connected with other women who enjoy fly fishing. Our number 1 priority is safety and privacy. This site provides education, inspiration and connection. One more thing - you have to be willing to laugh 'til it hurts! Yeah, Yeah, Yeah.
-Anita (aka Vicki, goddess of fly fishing pleasure)
"This is for women who are bold in character, for women who are quiet and reserved, for women who fear meeting others , for women who want to laugh until the tears flow, for women who like to just sit and listen and for women who like to talk. Come and join us on our journey."

Mary Lou is a CADD Department Manager for a busy downtown Consulting Firm in Calgary.
In her own words: "Fly fishing to me is the most relaxing, exciting and fulfilling sports one could possibly enjoy. When I'm out there on the water everything else in my busy life ceases to exist. I love everything about the sport from choosing just the right fly to the gracefulness of the cast and its delivery onto the water. Seeing a beautiful fish rise to take your fly off the surface and if everything goes just right, landing it is the most exciting feelings there is.
I also get an immense satisfaction in the release knowing that he will live on hopefully for me to catch another day.
I'm the one who's hooked!"

In her own words: "The fly fishing world is amazing. Fly fishing is an art with many dimensions. I find myself in places I would never go if I wasn't fly fishing. I meet new friends from around the world who bring added richness to my life. Fly fishing involves a lifetime of learning. Everytime I go fishing, teach or talk with someone, I learn something.
Fly fishing gives me a world to practice photography which helps me to see things differently. Fly fishing helps to provide balance in my life."

"I love fly fishing. I love acquiring a new skill that I can enjoy outdoors, especially along the rivers. I enjoy sharing this sport with others especially in the evenings as the sun sets. It has brought me closer together with some of my family members, and I have met great women friends.
I'm so less afraid of bugs, they are actually quite fascinating. I have also come to realize that the fish we catch are quite beautiful and a challange."

Suzan works for a Property Management Company in Okotoks.
In her own words: "I love fly fishing for so many reasons: I am outside, the rest of the world is far away when I am fly fishing. It is relaxing and almost therapeutic to be casting, changing flies, watching the drift of the fly, looking for likely spots for fish to be hiding, trying different techniques and/or flies, nymphs, streamers - enjoying the beautiful scenery (to name a few).
Oh yeah, it's fun to catch a fish also!"
Maria is a GIS Consultant here in Calgary. She also Moderates our Forum.
"When I'm fly fishing I love the challenge of finding the right fly to imitate nature and the right cast to convince the fish, and I love how calm it is when the challenge is on!"
